Newcastle Function Band

Laughing Jacks are a top Newcastle based function band. This extremely versatile five piece play a wide repertoire of rock, pop, soul and jazz to cater for the great taste range found at weddings, parties, corporate events and restaurants, around the North East and beyond.

Line Ups

As well as the five piece line up there are various duo and trio permutations of the band available for different functions. This allows us to provide music for events large and small, tailored to the venue and audience. Click the Line Ups link for more details.

The Crosby Brothers

Laughing Jacks 2

If Laughing Jacks are busy...

Due to recent increased demand for live wedding music in the north east, we've formed a second, almost identical band to cover the work that Laughing Jacks have been forced to turn down.

A recent addition to the Laughing Jacks team, Carrie (left) is an extremely versatile and experienced performer. Carrie has worked for many years as a solo singer in hotels, venues, clubs and holiday camps. She has worked with some of the North East's top function bands (Chameleon, Paul James Band) as well as singing on numerous studio sessions and radio jingles.

For the last two years Carrie has worked as a vocal tutor, running workshops and conducting one on one lessons, in local schools and colleges. Carrie also has long term experience in areas such as musicial theatre and lounge/cocktail performances. She holds a 2.1 Bachelor of Music Honours degree. As of May 2006 Carrie will be fronting most Laughing Jacks2 performances.

Identical repertoire

Laughing Jacks2 is an almost identical band we formed recently, to cover the work when Laughing Jacks are unavailable.

The band is comprised of musicians who have all worked with Laughing Jacks in the past, and the band's repertoire is almost identical.

The instrumental line up is based on the same format as Laughing Jacks, and the size of the band can be varied depending on the size and nature of the event.

The band is available in lineups ranging from voice and piano duo up to full five piece band and is fronted by either Melanie Champion or Carrie Steele, both pictured left.
